Listed below are the main procedures involved in an auto detail. 

Washing & Drying

Multi-stage wash cleaning wheels, arches, door shuts, paintwork using two bucket method with grit gaurds and lambs wool wash mitts. Careful washing is the key to maintaining your vehicle. Most damage is caused to paintwork during the wash stage by dirty sponges and rotary brush car washes. Microfibre drying towels are used in the drying stage.

Claybar 

After the multi-stage wash feel the paint. To test put your hand in a plastic sandwich bag and feel your paint with your fingertips . Does it feel gritty? This is bonded contaminants which cant be removed by washing alone. A clay bar and special lubricant are used to remove these leaving a smooth glass like finish. Clay can also be used on glass and alloys
 

Paint Correction

Most cars would benefit from some degree of paint correction using an electric polishing machine to improve the paintwork. Various grades of compound are used to remove defects such as swirls, light scrathes, faded and dull paint.

Polish

The polish step cleanses the paint and will remove slight imperfections and will bring back shine and depth. Most auto polish has some cut and cleaning power and can be applied by polish machine or by hand leaving the paint ready for wax and / or sealant.


Wax and / or Sealant

The wax / sealant stage will protect your paintwork from the elements. Carnauba wax is one of the hardest natural waxes and when applied to your paintwork will give a lasting, durable and highly glossy shine.
